Dynamesh - fixing holes after re-dynamesh
- using inflate and move brushes to cover holes. then re-dynamesh to reconstruct geometry. then, smooth out clunky areas
- a lot of geometry islands means that objects will shatter
Creating a polygroup based on UV island
- Under texture map "new from UV check
- under polygroups, "autogroup with uv
Quickly create holes in mesh (without live boolean)
Option 1:
- Append an object
- use an insertcyclinder brush to insert cylinder in the center of object by alt-click-drag
- Because you hold down the alt key and because the object you want to create a hole in is a dynamesh, it will subtract*
- drag one to get rid of the mask
- drag it again to create a hole
*under display properties, you have to make sure that the cylinder has "double" selected
Option 2:
Option 2:
- create a mask
- create a polygroup (ctrl+w)
- ctrl+shift+click to hide polygroup
- then "Delete hidden" under geometry
- curvebridge brush to bridge both holes
- drag and hold shift to snap to edge
- re-dynamesh
ZBrush Techniques: Invert mask and Inflate for designs
- When masking a mesh, ctrl+click in empty space to invert mask
- inflate the selected mask.
- use dam standard to add stuff like ridges and additional details on extruded design.

Retopology: Projection
Projecting hi-res details onto your low-res, retopologized model
- Have two models visible; both the one you edited in low-res and the one that is high-res with all the details
- Have the high-res model selected
- Under Under "Project hit select "project all"
Retopology: Z Modeler Brush for Editing Edge Flow
- Z Modeler Brush in the Brush Palette
- While hovered over either an edge or vertice, hit spacebar to select options
- Select Collapse to join polygons
- Select Delete to delete edges/vertices
- Select Stitch to target wield between vertices
- Select Bridge and select "points" to bridge between points
- While hovered edge, select delete and you can either select edge, edgeflow or partial edgeflow
Retopology: Defining Flow Zones
- Masking areas and then click "Edgeloop Masked Border
- With ZRemesher clicked, set make "Keep Groups" is selected. Target Polygon Count is low for less complex models and value is set high for very complex models.

Fundamentals: Insert Polyloop
Inserting the polyloop will connect edges
-
-Sharper strokes than the regular standard brush
-
make sure the entire object is fixed through xView before exporting no materials make sure it is "polygons"
